All Us Authors – Preview.

All Us Authors are a student band based in the heart of Somerset, near Glastonbury. Unable to categorise their music into a specific genre, traditional indie rock fused with straight up funky bass driven riffs describes them best. This unique blend of style creates an interesting and refreshing listen.

The band’s first lineup derived when Tom Smith (guitar) and Tom Ricketts (drums)  started Strode College and met bassist Thom Eavis and ex-singer Mike Mawhood. This subsequently led to the arrangement of their first practice where they straight away developed the riff for their first release, the song Not As Different.

Inspired by names such as The Black Keys, Radiohead, The Foals and Fightstar, All Us Authors were driven to find their unique style in order to form a clear distinction between themselves and music found in the charts. Tom Ricketts stated “I like people not being able to compare our music to anyone else, chart music is pathetic and unoriginal.”

Since forming, the band have achieved vast amounts in a small space of time. They were the first unsigned band to pack out Yeovil’s beloved Tabernacle Junction. Whilst more recently over the summer they have recruited new singer Dan Nixon and played their debut show with the new lineup, headlining local event Farmfest. Still buzzing from these gigs All Us Authors have managed to record and release their first four track EP entitled The Animal. The band are currently looking for a promoter to work with and next year plan on moving to London together in order to get closer to the action and focus on their music.

The new EP is available to listen to online for free via YouTube, Soundcloud or Spotify. While the leading track Murder In Chaos is available to purchase on itunes. Alternatively hard copies are available from the band members themselves.  All Us Authors are playing Bristol’s notorious venue The Fleece this Sunday and currently have gigs lined up at The Croft, The King Arthur and even a set at next years Glastonbury Festival.
